Write to me · mauriciopl@nextmid.com.mx
AI researcher, engineer and data scientist, software engineer and educator, focused on turning applied research into technology that can be used and operated in the real world.
He is the founder of NextMID, an initiative born in Mérida, Yucatán, with the vision of connecting research, artificial intelligence, and software engineering to build solutions that go beyond the lab and become real, scalable, results-oriented tools.
From Yucatán, NextMID works with teams and organizations across Mexico and Latin America, combining local talent, applied research, and remote collaboration.
Its mission is to accelerate digital transformation through technology that is secure, scalable, and strategically designed to solve real business problems.
Mauricio's vision starts from a premise: innovation does not end when a technology works; it begins when it can become a reliable, maintainable solution capable of generating value in production.
On stage
Innovation and technology, out loud.
Mauricio presents NextMID to university and professional audiences. The slide — logo, tagline, and a read on the future — is the same identity you see on this site.

Why NextMID
ROI before demos
Every product decision answers a business goal. We prefer an MVP you operate to a demo that gets applause and is forgotten.
Research + engineering
We are not only an agency and not only a lab. We take models and research into software with an owner, tests, and a deploy.
Visible method
Milestones, demos, and a decision channel with the sponsor. Scope, timing, and investment are clear from day one.
From Yucatán
A team based in Mérida. Real proximity for clients on the peninsula, and remote work with the rest of Mexico and LATAM.
Values
Technical rigor
Clean architecture, tests, and documentation as part of the deliverable.
Transparency
Scope, timing, and investment are clear from day one.
Business first
Every product decision answers a measurable goal — not a subjective preference.
Confidentiality
Serious handling of data, access, and intellectual property.
How we deliver
After kickoff, the catalog delivery method kicks in: seven phases with visible milestones.
- 01
Discovery
Business goals, stakeholders, constraints, and a definition of success.
- 02
Planning
Scope, backlog, preliminary architecture, timeline, and investment.
- 03
Design
UX/UI, prototypes, and validation with the people who will use the product.
- 04
Build
Sprints with demos, continuous integration, and controlled technical debt.
- 05
QA
Functional tests, regression, performance, and a security checklist.
- 06
Deployment
Release, monitoring, runbooks, and knowledge transfer.
- 07
Support
Stabilization, improvements, and an optional maintenance plan.
